Woodward Academy Celebrates Dedication of Newly Renovated Greathouse Field

ATLANTA, Georgia – Personal injury attorney Riah Greathouse is pleased to announce that on February 16, 2023, Woodward Academy celebrated the dedication of the newly renovated Greathouse Field at Drucker Stadium. Woodward Academy is an independent co-educational college-preparatory school serving pre-kindergarten to 12th grade with two campuses within the Atlanta metropolitan area. The renovated field is set to enhance the school’s sports program and benefit students and the community for years to come.

The varsity baseball field was originally built in 1999 but had been experiencing drainage issues that rendered it unplayable after heavy rain. This resulted in the cancellation of over 30% of varsity home games in recent years and left Woodward’s baseball program struggling to find adequate practice space.

However, thanks to the generous support of donors, the field underwent extensive renovations. Greathouse Field is now equipped with state-of-the-art turf and a subsurface drainage system that can withstand inclement weather and support a variety of athletic activities.

Not only will the new field benefit Woodward’s athletic program, it will also result in cost savings on maintenance and provide opportunities for local youth baseball programs to utilize the facility.

Along with our son, Alexander, who is in second grade at Woodward, Amina and I hope that the new Greathouse Field will inspire current and future generations of Woodward students to achieve great things both on and off the playing field.”
